SARS-CoV-2: Worst Intelligence Failure in U.S. History

SARS-CoV-2 seemingly came out of left field for many American citizens, and blindsided millions of small American businesses. The affects have left many American lives in shambles, with 1 out of every 7 Americans now being unemployed and small business owning entrepreneurs with nothing more than debt, stress and disappointment. But many are wondering how the coronavirus managed to make landfall in America and find Americans traversing about their daily lives. They're wondering how the U.S government was unaware, and furthermore had no course of action or contingency plan for emergencies such as these.
The fact of the matter is that U.S Intelligence as well as the CDC were well aware of coronavirus before it became an epidemic in China. How is that you ask?
The Chinese lab rumored to be the source of a coronavirus leak was given U.S. Government funding for its initial start in 2017 for its research into bats (known to be the source of the coronavirus pandemic). The Wuhan Institute of Virology was given a $3.7-Million grant from the U.S Government. Back when the funding was given, lawmakers and pressure groups were quick to call out the move for its participation in 'dangerous and cruel animal experiments at the Wuhan Institute'. The institute is only 20 miles away from the food market where it is believed the outbreak began. The lab was granted the $3.7-Million by the U.S National Institute of Health (NIH), for its research on bats (where it is believed the disease came from) that caused a prior coronavirus outbreak in China in 2016.
The American government became aware of the new 2019 outbreak as early as December of 2019. The Trump Administration was briefed about the situation in the early weeks of January and were aware of the danger and gravity of the situation by the very next week. It took the Administration over a month to implement any preventative measures and found themselves scrambling to stop the spread in the U.S.
Given the timeframe with the information given, SARS-CoV-2 is one of the worst intelligence failures in history. With false-claims coming from the executive branch of the U.s Government paired with little to no-preparation in the Department of National Security and the Department Health and Human Services, the window of over a month and a half had elapsed in which the prospects of pivotal preparations were ignored in order to sell the American people the false hopes of 'everything being under-control'. When the timer on SARS-CoV-2 begins to countdown, and a complete-chronological timeline of the steps and actions the U.S Government took has been finished. We will then see the full gravity of the Intelligence failure that is SARS-CoV-2.
