Volatility continued to be high in the market as some energy and cell-based therapeutics companies saw massive gains as investors doubled down on new hopes for potential COVID-19 treatments.
Notably, Thermogenesis Holdings (THMO) saw the largest gains, opening at 7.12 and closing at 11.49 for a whopping 58% gain during trading hours.
Not to be outdone, Midatech Pharma (MTP) opened at 2.00 and closed at 2.95 for a similarly impressive gain of 55% by the end of the day.
Lastly, Nine Energy Service (NINE), an oil and gas company saw its largest spike after trading between 0.75 and 0.95 for the last month. Shares opened at 1.04 and closed at 1.49 for a total jump of 52%. With a 6-month high of approximately 10 and a 12-month high of 22, the stock has never been cheaper. Investors may begin to ask themselves whether or not it's a good time to jump in for the long run.
